Global Walk for Water

Hand-in-Hand with African Women ( www.handinhand.space ) in conjunction with our partner Bridges of Hope is sponsoring a Global Walk for Water to  be held between October 9-16, 2021.

Our vision is to have individuals and groups of walkers around the globe walking to raise funds and raise awareness of the unacceptable challenges people who have very little water face.

At this present time, women in the Maasai Mara in Kenya, continue to fetch water in 20 – liter containers, from stagnant water dugouts-shared by the cows, to supply their homes.   Livestock in this community have been moved 6 days walk away from the community to have any food for the cattle and 7 sheep have died from lack of food and water in September.

This fundraiser will go towards drilling a borehole and purchase of a solar pump to bring water to the Oloonkerine community in Kenya.
